Vittadinia cervicularis


Tall leafy branched daisy to 40 cm. Stems and leaves covered in dense simple spreading hairs. Leaves are often folded lengthways. Small daisy flowers with purplish to whitish petals (ray florets) and fluffy seedheads.

Some can only be identified using a hand lens looking at the shape and texture of the seed. After the Italian fungi expert Carlo Vittadini (1800-1865).


Interesting Facts
Similar Species

Similar form to V. vuneata differs in the seed (narrow tip with white hairs on the top half). Several varieites have been recognised in this species.
