Gonocarpus tetragynus


Low bushy herb to 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide with characteristic even covering of short white bristly hairs on the stems and leaves. Leaves lance-shaped with serrated edges, to 12 mm long. Flower spikes of widely-spaced tiny pinkish-red flowers, turning into minute silvery grey fruit. The tiny flowers have eight stamens.

A variable species distinguished by the lance-shaped opposite leaves with successive pairs at right angles to the previous.
