Leptospermum lanigerum


Dense erect silvery-grey shrub or small tree to 4 m. Corky bark but bark on smaller stems is smooth. Narrow leaves to 20 cm long (tend to be shorter in a swampy situation, longer along watercourses). Open white flowers with triangular petals. Seed capsule or fruit is cup-shaped and covered in soft downy hairs.

Silvery sheen on the narrow grey-green leaves. Seed capsule is velvety-hairy, splits into five parts, and persists for years on the tree.
