Acacia pendula


Small rounded tree to 10 m with hard rough grey bark and willowy silver foliage. Smooth silvery leaves to 8 cm with slight hook at tip. Yellow globular flowers in small clustered flowerheads.

Graceful, weeping (pendulous) habit and blue-grey foliage make this plant distinctive. Characteristic thick woody flat seedpods with a thin wing along the outer edge.

Biology

Perennial. Widespread on heavy clay soils. Nitrogen-fixing and extremely drought-tolerant. Suckers following disturbance.
