Dianella brevicaulis

Short, closely tufted plant to 50 cm tall. Dark green leaves with margins bent dpwn. Dark blue flowers held on short stems always shorter than the leaves.

The leaf fibres were used, fruits eaten raw and the roots pounded and cooked on hot rocks by Aboriginal people of some Dianella species.
