Goodenia fascicularis


Tall erect plant to 20 cm tall with hairy stems that are sometimes cottony. Narrow hairy thin leaves. Yellow flowers with five petals held in groups of two and three, hairy on the inside.

Inner surface of the flower with sharp stiff flattened hairs.

Biology

Perennial. Heavier soils on floodplains, riverbanks and periodically moist sites. Seed becomes jelly-like on wetting and sticks it to the soil to aid germination, an adaptation for dry environments.
