Lepidosperma longitudinale


Clumped erect sedge with short thick rhizome, variable height, as low as 100 cm but up to 3 m. Yellowish rigid leaves with yellowish brown to grey-brown leaf sheaths. Flowerstems soft and pithy topped with reddish-brown flowers densely crowded in narrow spikes.

Distinctive Features

Shining stems strongly biconvex and can be readily compressed or dented, and the margins are smooth and not cutting.
