Notaden bennettii


Adult length up to 70 mm. Adults are olive, yellow or green. Skin on its back is warty. Belly is smooth. Toes are partially webbed. Adults have a round body and relatively short limbs. Large eyes.

Breeding season: Summer and Autumn. Upon very heavy rain they will emerage from the ground and begin breeding in temporary ponds. Tadpoles develop very quickly to take advantage of the water prior to evaporation.

Diet

Carnivore. Adults feed on a wide variety of insects (ants and termites).

Habitat

Adults are found in floodplains, clay pans and semi-arid grasslands.
