Tufted herb to about 25 cm tall. Narrow leaves 3 cm long and 3 mm wide, with scattered hairs. Woody rootstock.

Distinctive Features

Fluffy spikes of pinkish-white flowers grouped in a roundish oval about 3 cm wide.

Biology

Perennial. Fertile soils in grassland and woodland communities but not in mallee. Few seeds develop during a wet spring as the upright flower collects water and the pollen is destroyed.
