Goodenia lanata


Prostrate softly hairy trailing herb to 50 cm long with soft silvery grey hairs, rooting at the nodes. Dark green lance-shaped downy leaves, generally along the stems where they are fleshy. Yellow solitary flowers on long stems with five petals held in groups of two and three.

Distinctive Features

Mature coarsely toothed leaves are hairy on both surfaces. The flowerstalk is bent abruptly like a knee joint.

Biology

Perennial. Heathlands, heathy woodlands and forests. Tolerates dry conditions. Seed becomes jelly-like on wetting and sticks it to the soil to aid germination, an adaptation for dry environments.
