Carex tereticaulis

Densely tufted erect sedge with circular or three-sided (trigonous) hollow stems to 120 cm with very dark yellow-brown leaf-sheaths. Male flowers are at the top of the flower with female flowers below. Thick long rhizome.

Leaves are shorter than the flowering stems and are smooth and bluish-grey. Blue-green stems are hollow and are finely striated.
