Juncus holoschoenus

Small loosely tufted rush to 50 cm long, with or without short rhizomes. Rounded or flattened erect stems, 1.1-2.5 mm in diameter. Flowers clustered, green and chestnut-brown.

Stem compresses when dented with a thumb-nail. Emergent narrow hollow leaves as tall as flower stems.
